One More Time …

April 10, 2017
“If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you?  Even ‘sinners’ love those who love them.  And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you?  Even ‘sinners’ do that.  And if you lend to those from whom you expect re-payment, what credit is that to you?  Even ‘sinners’ lend to ‘sinners’, expecting to be re-paid in full.  But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back.  Then your reward will be great and you will be sons of the Most High, because He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.  Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.”               Luke 6: 32-36
These same verses are hitting me HARD again with living truth and life that I cannot escape.  We are ALL called to love and serve everyone.  To be good and kind to them, and always be merciful. How we treat people is very important and it matters not if they are sinners, ungrateful, or even wicked.  And perhaps it is them we are called to accept and love the most.
For that to happen we need to be in the world where they live and not hiding out in some “church” building.  Many “Christians” today are all about escaping the world and staying away from sinners.  They treat their “church buildings” like they are some kind of fortress that keeps the world out and sinners far away.
Jesus ate and hung out with sinners all the time.  So why shouldn’t we?  Instead of avoiding those who need Jesus..we should be in direct contact with them all the time.  That is why I love working with addicts.  We need to be in the world, but not of it.  Because in Jesus we have nothing to fear.  ”It is not the healthy that need a doctor, but the sick.”  A healthy church is one who sends out people to meet the needs of those who need help the most.  Staying in the sanctuary does not help anyone at all.
The healthiest churches are the ones who stress the fact that EVERYONE is a missionary. Missions are not just about reaching third world countries; true missions are about reaching your neighbors first and then spreading out to the rest of the world around you.  ANYONE can be a missionary.  The only equipping and training you really need comes directly from the Holy Spirit.  If you have accepted Christ as your Lord then you already are a missionary and there are people in your life right now that need God’s help as it flows through your very own life. Don’t worry about being qualified or called.  The fact is that Jesus makes you qualified and you are already called.
What are we waiting for?  You know the truth in love…so just walk in it!  In Christ you are already capable of bearing good fruit.  So just spread out your branches and allow people to start eating now.  Stop waiting for someone special to do it for you or give you permission.  In Jesus you are that special person.  So please just step up and go for it now!
                    Love and…

  1. Once again I apologize for the formatting of this blog post. WordPress would not allow me to publish it with proper paragraph breaks. To make it easier to read I was able to insert extreme indentations.

I’m so happy to be freed up from following an agenda when I see a person I can share Jesus with! Letting Jesus voice be my ‘agenda’ is a great change! Just being a listening ear, a caring heart, or whatever part of Himself he wants to show that person thru me is such a rewarding experience. Lead on, my Jesus! Thanks Chris, for exhorting us as the day approaches…..👍❤️✔️

    • Thank you Sue. In Christ we are free to be whatever HE wants us to be at any given moment. That is a true bless to both us and others.

Am doing that now and more in the future !!
Best exercise for whatever ails you is get out among the people and witness … The Holy Spirit will recall what verses you need or what to talk about that interests the person .. always pray first for The Lords direction through Jesus ..

    • I know that part of my being able to lead others to Christ so often is that I pray for divine encounters to happen and that HE would prepare the hearts of the people I am going to meet on any given day. Thanks for sharing JUdy.
