A Charlie Brown Christmas

December 23, 2016

Greetings,

Linus said:

“And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.  And lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.  And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ the Lord.  And this shall be a sign unto you; ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.  And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, and good will toward men.  Luke 2: 8-14

I don’t believe anyone could say it any better than Linus!

Love and Christmas blessings to all……

Kirk Out !

p.s.  Here is something to pray about and ponder during the Holidays…..  Please notice how the angel was all inclusive when he spoke of the coming of Christ….  The good tidings of great joy were to ALL people and not an exclusive elite few.  The arrival of Jesus brought peace and good will toward ALL mankind.  The cult of Christianity over the years has made Jesus very small and exclusive….. the truth is that Jesus is much larger and inclusive than we can even imagine.  Christ’s birth, life, death and resurrection bridged the great chasm between all “men” and God.  In Christ we are all restored.  It is now time to walk in that truth and share the love, truth, grace and mercy of Jesus with whosoever will.

Sharing … everyone loves Charlie Brown !! Yes it’s sad all the emphasis is on shopping and buying the right gift for each one instead of sharing the good news as JESUS commanded Mathew 28:19 20.
I am so thankful for Jesus .. even more humbled that Jehovah God sent His dearly beloved son to earth to preach and die for all mankind . There is no greater love than this….

    • Thank you Judy. True there is no greater love than laying your life down for your friends.

I so love these verses in Luke 2! They are pretty universally read on Christmas messages….as they were today here in Yuma where we are presently. And, yes, as the part was read about good tidings of great joy to ALL people I couldn’t help but quietly repeat that under my breath. Then I thought, “Wow, it’s pretty cool they didn’t say ‘we come with news of a Saviour and you are reeeeeally in trouble if you don’t receive Him…..”. Not too good of news if you ask me. But, no, while I was still his enemy He went through all He did to reconcile me to the Father (Romans 5) and for that my heart rejoices. So now I will spend the next 364 days continuing to be thankful for such rich love as He and the Father portrayed at His coming. Love to you all….and I agree with Daryl, this is a wonderful place of encouragement and unity. Hugz to all, “BK”

    • Thanks for sharing BK. God set the bar very high, but Jesus is here to give us all the boost we need to clear any obstacle.

All things indeed! II Pet 1:3 “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:” And I love that the word ‘knowledge’ isn’t as in book learning, but as in becoming fully acquainted with Him. The more we get to know Him the more we are like Him. Love, “BK”

      • Yes BK! The Greek word for know used here means to know as in touching and experiencing HIM. Very comprehensive!
