Simple Fellowship

March 24, 2015

“Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, His body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.  Let us hold unswervingly to the hope that we profess, for He who promised is faithful.  And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.  Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another- and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”  Hebrews 10: 19-25

Yes my friends it is true that we can now enter into His presence with confidence because of His blood sacrifice for our complete redemption and restoration.  We can enter in because Jesus has cleared our path and fully opened the way.  We need not hide in shame because of our sins and shortcomings any longer.  No, we can run into His widespread arms and draw near to Him because of His great unfailing love for us all.

We can hold “unswervingly” (I love that word) to our hope because Jesus is ALWAYS completely faithful.  Yes, it is definitely more about Him than it is about us!  How do we spur each other on towards love and good deeds?  By simply abiding in Him and bearing good fruit as we share our victories and challenges with one another.  Let us continue gathering together to break bread with glad and sincere hearts and to share deep fellowship with one another under our one and only Head Christ Jesus.

Let us encourage one another by speaking and living the truth in love.  Seek Him as you gather together and He will reveal even more of Himself to each one of you.  Lift Him up as you love one another and He will encourage and lift you up also.  The Day of Jesus returning is near.  So hold fast to Him and one another and He will see you through to the very end.

I have seen this passage of scripture used on many occasions to try and control and MANipulate people into going to “church” as often as the doors of the building are open.  I refuse to use or twist it in that manner and will allow it to speak for itself instead.  I choose to fellowship with other Christ followers because it is a great joy that benefits all who gather together under Christ alone.  When we fellowship in a manner that encourages everyone to share their portion and without the Clergy/Laity division, amazing things happen and EVERYONE gets blessed.  Especially Jesus!  I fellowship with others because I love it and I hope and pray that you can find fellowship that is as open, free and satisfying as the gatherings in which I participate.  In the true Body of Christ we have face to face and heart to heart, simple fellowship.  In traditional religion instead of relational fellowship they have set in stone services that stifle any healthy Spiritual interaction and growth.   It is WAY past time to choose true fellowship over rigid services and shows.

Love and …..

It is much easier and less work to stay in the place of complacency. Going in and out like clockwork. Good little puppets. Never getting to know whether or not you can sit across a table and communicate the scriptures, your daily happenings, and break bread with another brother or sister. It takes nothing from you. Utilizes none of our spiritual man. But to be one on one and open your heart and mind to be fed and to feed, to love and be loved, seeing Jesus in the eyes of each one in the room, praying together, getting to know one another. That is true, simple fellowship. Amazingly wonderful! No matter how exhausted I may be before our fellowship, I always come away energized and full of more things to go study and search out about the Lord. God bless!

Ramma, I sure see your points…,,all true……today I am a bit discouraged, wanting all of the goodness of sweet fellowship ……. Not easy to come by these days it seems…still appreciating prayers on this account. Thanking the Lord I see what true fellowship is, and thankful, grateful to God, for those blessed occasions!❤️
