Integrity

May 29, 2013

Greetings,

“The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.”  Proverbs 11: 3

Well, my 13 year old daughter Lydia has done it again.  She won the spring semester Five Star Integrity award.  She is the first two time winner in the program’s history.  There were nearly 200 children participating this semester.

Definition of INTEGRITY

1
: firm adherence to a code of especially moral or artistic values : incorruptibility
2
: an unimpaired condition : soundness
3
: the quality or state of being complete or undivided :completeness

The Five Star head coach said Lydia is able to not only talk the talk, but also walk the walk. He noted that she was mostly quiet in speech, but that her walk was VERY loud by the way she carries herself at all times.  She is quick to help others and give them a listening ear.  And she always stands up for what it true and right.

So far Lydia is successfully navigating her early teens.  Which is no small task in this day and age.  Apparently we have been raising her right and we are glad to witness her blossoming into a faithful woman of God.  Will she have struggles in the future?  Sure everyone does, but her foundation is solid rock, so hopefully she will be able to weather whatever storms lie ahead for her.

Let me point out again that Lydia has achieved all of this while being raised completely outside of traditional “church” or religion.  She has never gone to a church building, had a Pastor or youth Pastor, attended Sunday school, been to a conventional bible study, or heard a traditional sermon.  Since her birth she has been totally immersed in totally free and open, Spirit led fellowship. The fruit of organic relational fellowship is more than evident in her life and in Christ she has lacked nothing.  I say all this to encourage others that their children can not just survive, but actually thrive in an organic, relational setting.

Truth is that no one really needs a program based traditional “church”   They won’t tell you that, but it is true.  What we all need is relationship, pure and simple, with one another and Jesus.  Programs are shallow, but relationships run deep.  I dove in head first 37 years ago and have not looked back ever since.  “As for me and my house we will serve the Lord.”  Please don’t serve the system, serve the Lord!

Love and…..
