God’s Timing Is Perfect

April 15, 2013

The following passage of the bible just happened to be in my reading today.  I did not pick it out by choice to apply to the recent circumstances in my life.  It amazes me how God does things like this all the time.

“Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble.  Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.  For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech.  He must turn from evil and do good; he must seek peace and pursue it.  For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and His ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”  Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good?  But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear what they fear, do not be frightened.”  But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord.  Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.  But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.”  1 Peter 3: 8-16

Wow!  Totally amazing!  Great words to live by!  I am all for reconciliation, but that takes two people.  I cannot do that alone.  What I can do now is forgive my accuser, move on, and be open to reconciliation in the future.  That I have done and will continue to do.  I don’t know about you, but I have found myself on both sides of that passage quoted above at times and I just might be on both sides of it right now if that makes sense?  May my heart be always open for correction, reproof, blessing, and encouragement.  In Christ we are family and I expect my family to be involved in my life and help me to stay on the path of faith, hope and love.

Love and…..

  2. Timely indeed. May the leading of the Holy Spirit, and the spiritual wisdom and peace of God always be with you, as He is today.

Great stuff here Chris. You can never go wrong with walking in love. If I err, I would always rather err on the side of grace and love rather than discord….am I always successful doing it? nope, but it’s what I aspire to.
