Every Single One Of Us

October 19, 2012

Greetings,

” All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them.  And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation.  We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us.  We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.  God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.  As God’s fellow workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain.  For He says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.”  I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.”  2 Corinthians 5: 18 – 2 Corinthians 6: 2

We are God’s fellow workers and everyone has a message and ministry.  We are all ministers and in Christ there is no such thing as a separate Clergy class of believers.  The Clergy is something that mere man made up so that they could make money and use power and position in order to control other believers.  In Christ there are supposed to be no divisions, therefore there is no real division of Clergy/Laity, Pastor/Regular Christ follower or anything like that in the one true Church.

Every Christ follower has been given the ministry of reconciliation.  We get to share the good news message that God is no longer holding men’s sins against them.  We are to walk in forgiveness and love, inviting others to come alongside us and be forgiven.  It is not our job to threaten them with hell or other consequences.  Our message is that of grace, freedom and love.  We are to encourage others to walk in the ways of Christ and bear fruit through having a personal relationship with Jesus.

We are all His missionaries and our life is our mission field.  Too many believers are sitting in rows always receiving a message, but never getting to deliver one of their very own.  Many wait to be called to serve in some far off nation, never realizing that they have already been called and equipped by The Spirit to serve where they live and work right now.  In the modern “church” MINISTRY has become an idol, perhaps the biggest idol of them all.  Jesus wants us to live and work in simplicity and share our lives with others along the way.  Sure sometimes we get to visit far off places, but until you are active and comfortable sharing and bearing fruit in your very own back yard, I doubt He will send you somewhere else to minister.

Our life is our ministry.  Reconciliation is our message.  So stop sitting within the four walls of your “church” building or house church and get out there and live your life for all to taste and see.  It is not the Pastor’s job, in fact Pastoring shouldn’t even be a job at all. In fact it is a gift and not an office, position or career; and it should always be used from within the body and never from above it.  Who He calls He equips and I know for certain that God has called everyone to ministry.  We are all supposed to serve God and others with our whole heart.  Live the message and allow it to permeate every aspect of your life.  That is how we best serve and love Jesus and one another.  Every single one of us is called and gifted to serve.

Love and …..

  1. The Constantinian foundation of church makes all that is built on that foundation corrupt. The churched (born from above or not) have been breathing in a spirit that does not have its origins in Christ. For those whose are Christ’s (the Lord knows those who are His) they are held captive in these spiritual prisons called church. To expect captives to have any anointing to present a Gospel they know, or have experienced, little of, is a stretch. If they do what will they bring converts to? The same prison they are held in. All of this is not a very good situation.
Praise God for His faithfulness, for here in these last days He is revealing His kingdom to all who want to do His will alone, and have cast off the harlot institutions.
