Arm Photon Torpedoes

November 25, 2011

I don’t know exactly why, but I woke up this morning in an apocalyptic frame of mind.  Perhaps it was a dream I had last night and its meaning will come to me at some later date, but I will write on right now as The Spirit leads me.

Revelation 19:11-16 goes like this:

“I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True.  With justice He judges and makes war.  His eyes are like blazing fire, and on His head are many crowns.  He has a name written on Him that no one knows but He himself.  He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and His name is The Word Of God.  The armies of heaven were following Him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.  Out of His mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.”  He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty.  On His robe and on HIs thigh He has this name written:  KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS!

Wow!  That passage gives me shivers and goosebumps just by reading it.  And what follows these verses is just as gruesome and awesome as it can get, but for today I will stick with these verses.  What I don’t want to do is get into over interpreting and labeling various elements of this passage.  That has been done to death by so many that at some point it all becomes very weird to the point of gross error in my opinion.  The whole “End Times” prophesy crowd on religious television just creep me out.  They makes things so complicated when in reality  it should all be so very simple.  End of rant!

Here is what I see in this passage… I see that Jesus is one totally bad ass dude, complete with tatoo and sword.  I see that He is Faithful and True and that He is coming back to judge and make war.  Because of that I now have more understanding of why Spiritual warfare is previously mentioned in scripture and why we are meant to be warriors.  Because we are created to be like Him. Like in 2 Corinthians 10:1-5  “…we do not wage war as the world does.  The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world.  On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.  We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God….”  And also why numerous times we are told to “fight the good fight.”  However, the main thing I see in this passage is that Jesus, Himself, is “The Word Of God”.  There it is!  Right there in plain black and white…Jesus, not the Bible, is The Word Of God.  The Bible might be comprised of God’s words, but it is NOT The Word Of God.  I cannot make this point strongly enough because how one views this important issue effects their whole paradigm of faith and life.  I will say this one more time….I worship a Person, not a book.  And that Person is coming back on a white horse someday to defeat the kings of earth their armies, the Beast and the false prophet.  For only He is KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS!

Love and…..

Actually I don’t think it was so much “prophetic” as maybe a “word of wisdom”. You weren’t thinking of shopping at Walmart today were you? Then again (from the news reports) shopping today seems like something out of a post-apocalyptic Mad Max movie anyway!

    Have a great day!

  2. Actually I did go to Walmart today, just for regular shopping in the afternoon and not the black Friday sales. It was busy, but not too bad. Love, Chris

Powerful stuff indeed! And not unlike the error you pointed out, it reads “He is going to judge the *nations* which is the same as when He separates the sheep and goats – not individual people at this time..
And whether it is the USA, Rome/Italy, England, or the Arab countries – any who claim to be the teachers and enlighteners will be judged doubly harsh… And the small, insignificant nations who are labeled “pagan” may surprise us all ; embracing a creed of “first do no harm”, these who are last may end up on the right hand side of God… oh, the sound of gnashing teeth will be deafening!!!
